The Show Gallery Lowertown ADA Access Plan:

The Show Gallery Lowertown is dedicated to exhibiting works of art by artists from all walks of life. We support artists with a variety of disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, cognitive delays, mental illness and hearing and vision loss. It is the policy of The Show Gallery Lowertown to provide opportunity for artists, regardless of race, gender, national origin, color, age, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, and disability, to have equal opportunity to create, display, and sell their art.

Background of ADA Policy Statement and Implementation Plan:

The Show Gallery Lowertown “… is a nonprofit artspace seeking to create accessibility in the arts, and unite artists of all abilities”. As a result of this newly created nonprofit this is the first ADA Access Plan. The ADA Access Plan was developed in November 2014. The plan will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis, or as needed.


Policies and Management:

  • 1. The Show Gallery Lowertown shall reasonably accommodate artists, with and without disabilities, in its program and activities.
  • 2. The Show Gallery Lowertown shall not discriminate on the basis of a disability or disabilities against persons who wish to display their art or other persons.
  • 3. The Show Gallery Lowertown shall review the ADA Access Plan annually, or as needed.
  • 4. The Show Gallery Lowertown shall request feedback from artists who display their art in the gallery about accessibility issues.
  • 5. The Show Gallery Lowertown’s ADA Access Plan will be available upon request and online at The Show Gallery Lowertown website.

Facility:

The Show Gallery Lowertown is currently renting gallery space at 346 N Sibley Street in the Lowertown area of St. Paul, Minnesota. The building space, gallery, gift shop, classroom and bathrooms are accessible to artists and visitors with a disability.
